about this location

The history of Aalberts surface technologies in Villingen-Schwenningen dates back to 1970, when Rotel Holding AG developed a thin-film hard metal coating called DURALLOY®. This coating combines very good tribological properties with a high level of corrosion protection. After continuous improvements, the process was patented in 1977. The patent rights were acquired in 1988 by Marco Santini, who initially founded the company Duralloy AG Switzerland.

In 1991, Marco Santini acquired Klaiber Metallveredelung, based in Villingen-Schwenningen. The family-run company was a classic electroplating company whose customers were mainly from the watch industry and later from the medical technology sector. In 2002, the company was renamed Duralloy Süd GmbH and the DURALLOY® process was also introduced at this location.

In 2008, Aalberts N.V. took over the companies from Villingen-Schwenningen and Härkingen in Switzerland. Both plants are now part of the Aalberts surface technologies group and generate 40% of sales in the automotive industry and 30% in mechanical engineering. The remainder is split between the electrical engineering, medical technology, sanitary technology, textile and printing sectors.

Aalberts surface technologies in Villingen-Schwenningen offers a wide range of classic galvanic coatings, such as gold, silver, copper, nickel and various chrome surfaces. We strive to deliver components of lasting quality. For this reason, we use state-of-the-art measuring methods, such as X-ray technology to determine the coating thickness. Our electrolytes and auxiliary materials are analyzed and tested in our in-house laboratory. We are certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard (quality management system).

We are the right partner for both new parts business and component maintenance. In addition to offering various coating processes like electroplating, our competence also includes partial coating of components and keeping technically necessary areas of the components free from coating.
